Requirement
Metacentro ship design needs to monitor the weight of a large yacht during its construction and outfitting phase.
The purpose of this weighing is to constantly monitor the vessel's weight, which must fall within the final range estimated during the design phase.
The arrangement of the load cells must take into account that weight is typically not distributed uniformly along the entire length of the vessel. In some areas, such as the engine room, the load will be more concentrated than in others.
Our solution
The following were used for monitoring:
How does it work?
Each CBX load cell, installed in its V-series mounting kits, was positioned in a specific part of the hull and placed between the vessel and the steell cradle supporting it.
The load cells are not connected in parallel, each one is monitored individually with a TLK weight transmitter.
The vessel's load is monitored by recording the weight detected by each individual load cell with the transmitter. By then summing all the detected loads, the vessel's total weight is obtained in real time.
It is not necessary to monitor all the load cells simultaneously. The purpose is to verify that the vessel is registering the steps planned in the design, so that any necessary modifications can be made before the yacht is fully completed.
