Research and Development


The flagship of LAUMAS production activity is represented by the advanced research and development department, which is made up of a team of constantly updated engineers who design LAUMAS weight indicators and transmitters with a view to continuous technological innovation. They take care of both the hardware and the software, developing specific firmware according to the application for which the instruments are intended.

LAUMAS’ advanced research and development laboratory is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment for carrying out all types of control tests on the various electronic and mechanical components, with reference to the applicable standards for electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), electrical safety and legal metrology. The innovative tests conducted at our research and development laboratory allow and guarantee the certified quality of our products.


Teseq GTEM 750

GTEM cell that allows tests for immunity to radiated emissions to be carried out (i.e. relative to electromagnetic waves that propagate in the air, such as those of mobile phones), performing all the functions of an anechoic chamber, according to the standards EN 55022, EN61000-6-4 (emissions); EN 61000-6-2, EN61000-4-3 (immunity).

PMM 3030

9 kHz to 3 GHz signal generator for conducted and radiated immunity tests. Generates interference signals that are applied to the instrument being tested to verify that it is not affected. For conducted immunity tests (EN 61000-6-2, EN 61000-4-6) the interference travels along the cables; for radiated immunity tests (EN 61000-6-2, EN 61000-4-3) the instrument being tested is placed inside the GTEM cell and the interference propagates in the air.

Integrated instrument for electrical safety tests for instruments powered by 230 VAC to ensure that they do not pose a risk of electrocution to the user. Tests that can be performed: dielectric strength, earthing efficiency, insulation resistance, leakage current (standard EN 61010, EN 60990).

PMM 9010/ 30P

10 Hz to 3 GHz receiver. It is used for conducted and radiated emissions tests, i.e. to verify that the instrument being tested does not emit signals that could interfere with other instruments installed in its vicinity. For the conducted emission tests (standard EN 55022), the interference travelling along the cables is evaluated; for the radiated emission tests (standards EN 61000-6-4, EN 55022), the instrument being tested is placed inside the GTEM cell and the interference it radiates in the air is evaluated.

EMC Partner TRA2000

Integrated instrument for testing immunity from burst (fast transients, standard EN 61000-6-2, EN 61000-4-4), surge (voltage pulses, standard EN 61000-6-2, EN 61000-4-5), ESD (electrostatic discharges, standard EN 61000-6-2, EN 61000-4-2) that the instrument being tested must withstand. The bursts simulate the interference caused on the power line by other devices as they are turned on or off; the surge simulates the effect of lightning; the ESD simulates the effect of electrostatic discharges generated by the operator’s fingers.
