Requirement

Choosing the right components to build a weighbridge that handles vehicles and truck weighing quickly, reliably and accurately in industrial and agricultura settings such as warehouse, construction sites, farms, and production facilities.

The two most common types of weighbridge are:

→ Above-ground weighbridges with access ramps.
Easy to install, flexible, and readily adaptable to the environment, these are the ideal solution for weighing work vehicles and industrial materials.

→ Pit-mounted weighbridges.
These are flush-to-floor weighig systems designed to integrate seamlessly with the road surface. The load cells are housed inside a pit, over which a check platform is placed. Their dimensions can vary depending on the length of the vehicle being weighed.

When installing a weighbridge, whether above-ground or pit-mounted, it is always essential to ensure accuracy, reliability, and long-term durability.

Weighbridges are generally weighing systems approved for legal for trade use. Approval is required when the recorded weight has legal standing, such as in the buying and selling of goods, since the vehicle weighing data serves as an official reference for invoicing, as well as for verifying that the vehicle's load does not exceed the limits defined by road traffic laws.

Our solutions

We offer 5 different installation solutions, which can be used for both pit-mounted and above-ground weighbridges.

The solutions combine various weighing components: analog or digital load cells, simple or advanced weight indicators specifically designed for weighbridges, junction boxes, and management software.

For straightforward and versatile weighbridges, with multiple weighing modes and a comprehensive database.

For multi-function weighbridges, to manage multiple scales within the same facility.

1. Simple and affordable solution.

The system consists of:

  • 8 COK compression column load cells, 25 metric tons capacity;
  • CE81PN ABS junction box;
  • WINOX-BR weight indicator for weighbridges;
  • Epson TM-U295 printer;
  • RIP6100N remote display.

How does it work?

The 8 COK load cells are installed beneath the weighbridge and connected in parallel to the CE81PN ABS junction box, positioned to the side of the system.

The junction box is connected to the WINOX-BR weight indicator, which in turn is connected via RS485 output to the RIP6100N remote display and via RS232 to the printer.

The weighing terminal and printer are positioned near the weighbridge, inside the operator's booth, while the remote display is mounted on the exterior wall.

The added value

  • The COK compression load cells are straightforward but durable and reliable: their OIML R 60 C3 certification attests to their high metrological quality and makes them suitable for weighing systems approved for legal for trade use.
  • The ABS junction box helps keep costs down while providing maximum protection for the board, thanks to its built-in lightning and electrical surge protection device.
  • The WINOX-BR weight indicator is a basic yet feature-rich indicator that makes weighbridge management simple and intuitive: its 3 serial ports, 4 outputs, and 2 logic inputs allow it to be connected to remote displays, junction boxes, PCs and traffic lights.
  • This solution is also ideal for above-ground weighbridges. The combination of components (load cells, junction box, and weight terminal) makes it possible to assemble a simple yet adaptable weighing system complete with all the functions needed to manage weighing operations.

2. Solution with digital load cells.

The system consists of:

  • 8 COD digital column load cells, 25 metric tons capacity;
  • WTAB-BGE advanced weight indicator for weighbridges;
  • RIP6100IP65 remote display with integrated traffic light.

How does it work?

The 8 COD digital load cells are interconnected via RS485 using a daisy-chain configuration, while the last load cell is connected directly to the WTAB-BGE weight indicator for weighbridges, which has an integrated printer.

The weight indicator is in turn connected to the remote display with integrated traffic light via RS485 output.

The added value

  • COD digital load cells are particularly stable and reliable: they provide greater signal security, as they are immune to electromagnetic interference, and are OIML R 60 C5 approved for legal for trade use.
  • COD load cells can replace older analog load cell models without mofifying the structure; they are mechanically compatible and interchangeable with most analod compression column load cell models currently in use.
  • COD load cells feature a dual waterproof connector, allowing the load cells to be daisy-chained together and then connected directly to the indicator: making wiring simpler, eliminating the need for a junction box, and facilitating replacement in the event of a failure.
  • The next-generation anti-rotation system integrated into the base of the COD load cell structure is hexagonal in shape: this prevents the load cell form rotating and ensures the system's perfect stability.
  • COD load cells save time: by placing a weight at the location of each load cell installed beneath the weighbridge, the digital load cells will perform digital equalization automatically.
  • COD load cells with a digital signal also offer additional benefits, such as advanced diagnostics and percentage load distribution.
  • Logging and traceability operations are simplified: the extensive database of the WTAB-BGE weight indicator allows license plates, products, customers, and operators to be recorded, entered directly from the full keyboard on the instrument.
  • Data saving and management are made easier: thanks to the 2 USB ports on the WTAB-BGE weight indicator, data can be exported and saved to a USB drive. Barcode readers can also be managed, with printing and retrieval of open weighing session IDs. 

3. Solution with intelligent junction box and advanced weight indicator for weighbridges.

The system consists of:

  • 8 COL compression column load cells, 30 metric tons capacity;
  • CLM8 intelligent junction box;
  • WINOX-BGE advanced weight indicator for weighbridges;
  • STAVT-II printer;
  • RIP6100IP65 remote display with integrated traffic light.

How does it work?

The 8 COL load cells are positione beneath the structure and connected to the CLM8 intelligent junction box, housed in an IP67 stainless steel enclosure.

The junction box is connected to the weight indicator, which in turn is connected via RS485 port to the remote display with integrated traffic light and via RS232 to the printer.

The added value

  • COL load cells are reliable and ideal for handling heavy loads: they are made of stainless steel with a high IP protection rating and are OIML R 60 C4 certified for legal for trade use.
  • The CLM8 intelligent junction box has 8 independent channels, providing full advanced diagnostic capabilities.
  • With the CLM8, it is possible to perform load cell input testing in mV and verify load distribution in %, making it easy to quickly identify any errors or faults and promptly replace damaged cells.
  • The CLM8 simplifies operations: simply place a weight at the location of each load cell installed beneath the weighbridge, and the intelligent junction box will perform equalization automatically.
  • The extensive database of the WINOX-BGE weight indicator allows license plates, products, customers, and operators to be recorded, entered directly from the full keyboard on the instrument, simplifying logging and traceability operations.
  • Thanks to the 2 USB ports on the weight indicator, data can be exported and saved to a USB drive. Barcode readers can also be managed, with printing and retrieval of open weighing session IDs.

Solutions 1,2 and 3 are perfect for small businesses with no special requirements, such as farms, small feed mills, lumber companies, or small-scale producers.

Solutions 4 and 5 are instead best suited for companies that want to manage their weighbridges via PC software, or that require a more structured management approach, such as those in the chemical, food, and pharmaceutical sectors.

4. Solution with management software.

The system consists of:

  • 8 DTL double shear beam load cells, 25 metric tons capacity;
  • CE81INOX stainless steel junction box;
  • WLIGHT weight indicator;
  • RIP6100N remote display;
  • PROG WBRIDGE management software.

How does it work?

The 8 DTL double shear beam load cells are positioned beneath the structure and connected to the CE81INOX stainless steel junction box.

The junction box is connected to the WLIGHT weight indicator with alibi memory, which in turn is connected via serial outputs to the remote display and to the PC on which the PROG WBRIDGE management software is installed.

The added value

  • DTL double shear beam load cells are ideal for special applications: their mechanical symmetry makes them sturdy and naturally resistant to lateral forces. When paired with the mounting kit featuring an integrated self-centering ball, they ensure precise and reliable weighing.
  • The WLIGHT weight indicator ensures the system is approved for legal for trade use: the visible indicator and the ability to use the sotware through the alibi memory make the system fully compliant.
  • Management is straightforward and cost savings assured: the entire weighbridge management is handled by the PROG WBRIDGE management software, eliminating the need for expensive and complex weight indicators.
  • With PROG WBRIDGE, monitoring is simplified and data mangement and storage are comprehensive: vehicle license plate images can be captured from cameras and attached to weighing records or printouts, and custom print formats can be managed.
  • PROG WBRIDGE offers 2 types of databases to mange different workstations from the same PC and to archive data.
  • PROG WBRIDGE manages any PC printer; in this case, the computer's existing printer can be connected and used directly.

5. Solution with intelligent junction box and management software.

The system consists of:

  • 8 COK compression column load cells, 50 metric tons capacity;
  • CLM8 intelligent junction box;
  • RIP6100N remote display;
  • PROG WBRIDGE management software.

How does it work?

The 8 COK load cells are positioned beneath the structure and connected to the CLM8 intelligent junction box.

The junction box is connected via RS485 output to the remote display and via Ethernet TCP/IP network to the PC on which the PROG WBRIDGE management software is installed.

For weighing systems approved for legal for trade use, the CLM8 junction box must be positioned so that its display is always visible.
This is a mandatory requirement as in the absence of a weight display it serves as the primary weight readout.

The added value

  • The CLM8 intelligent junction box has 8 independent channels, providing full advanced diagnostic capabilites.
  • With the CLM8, it is possible to perform load cell input testing in mV and verify load distribution in %, making it easy to quickly identify any errors or faults and promptly replace damaged cells.
  • The CLM8 simplifies operations: simply place a weight at the location of each load cell installed beneath the weighbridge, and the intelligent junction box will perform equalization automatically.
  • In the version for special weighbridges designed for very long vehicles, the intelligent junction box (CLM16 version) can manage up to 16 independent channels, i.e., 16 load cells positioned beneath the structure.
  • Management is straightforward and cost savings assured: the entire weighbridge management is handles by the PROG WBRIDGE management software, eliminating the need for expensive and complex weight indicators. 
  • With PROG WBRIDGE, monitoring is simplified and data management and storage are comprehensive: vehicle license plate images can be captured from cameras and attached to weighing records or printouts, and custom prin formats can be managed, It also includes 2 types of databases for data management and archiving.
  • PROG WBRIDGE manages any PC printer; in this case, the computer's existing printer can be connected and used directly.
